Christmas Joy!

Hi everyone, with 3 sleeps to go before Christmas I hope that everyone is on track with their shopping, cooking, etc and can now sit back relax and enjoy.

Today I would like to share with you one of the last Christmas cards I will be making for this year.  I am loving the clean and simple lines of this and have incorporated a new technique called "Ombre" which is a hot trend at the moment around crafting circles.  Ombre means a colour gradient going from light to dark and or dark to light.

For my background sky  I have used Tim Holtz distress stamps, Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans and for the foreground I have used  Shabby Shutters,  Crushed Olive and Forrest Moss.  What is exciting about these are that they are a new preorder at Bizzy Becs online store and you can order them right here.

Also  used are Memory Box Dies 'Joy' and 'Precious Snowflake'.  Memory Box dies together with a fabulous assortment of dies are available for preorder in store here.

I have used Diamond Dust on the snowflake and have flicked Dr PH Martins Pen White onto the background to represent snow.  Not that we have snow where I live but thought it looked pretty.

The trees are stamped with one of my favourite Stampin Up stamps 'Lovely as a tree' and I have embossed them with white embossing powder to create a silhouette effect.

I am also entering my card into a challenge currently being run at STAMPlorations   'stamping &and silhouettes'.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Happy Mail

Today I would like to share with you a card I made using a fabulous image "Happy Mail"  by Tiddly Inks.  Their stamps are just so adorable and Bec has a range of acrylic stamps available in store here for purchase now.  They are on sale so hop in quick as they won't stay around for long.

Also used are elements from Bec's cardmaking kit #1 (pearls, ribbon & birthday greeting) there is a great range of Christmas and Card Making Kits available in store here.   The lace used was also purchased from Bec and there is a great range available to purchase here.  So pop on over and check them out together with all the other goodies that are currently being offered at special prices, there is something for everyone.

I have used copics to colour her with and had a bit of play using shades of red to tip the hair.  I must say I am very pleased with the result and given her a spotty dress.

There is currently a challenge over at Tiddly Inks called "Anything Goes"  so I am also entering this one into that.

Thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful day.

Tag It!

Woohoo its November and that means it is time for another challenge at Bizzy Becs.  The challenge for this month is to create a Tag.  Now it can be a stand alone tag or it can be a tag somewhere on your creation and is by DT Michelle.

There is a fabulous prize on offer again this month a Tiddly Inks stamp "Beach Babe".  These stamps are relatively new to Bizzy Becs and are very cute.  You can find them here.

For my tag I have had a play with a new background that I recently was shown called "Alcohol Float"  it was lots of fun playing with the alcohol inks and gesso and am pleased with the overall effect.  I used a combination of Pool, Juniper, Sandal & Sailboat Blue, these are from my own stash.  Prior to inking I used a spellbinder M -bossability folder called Ornament Iron and there are a few different ones that you can pre order from Becs store here.

Also used on the tag is a Blue Butterfly Digi stamp called " Little Santa holding a present" these are available at Bizzy Becs here and there are lots of categories to choose from.  He is coloured with Copics and the fur on his outfit is painted with Aleenes True Snow.   I also used  the Memory Box die Frostyville Wreath which was a Christmas release from last year and creatively cut it apart and used the snowflakes which I covered in Crystal Stickles.  Memory Box dies can be preordered at here plus there are lots of other brand dies available.

The tree is Tim Holtz Pine Tree die cut from grunge board and coloured up with Distress Paints, the tips of the tree I painted with the True Snow also from my own stash.    At the bottom of the tag is Green Tara Burlap Ribbon  in coffee and is available to purchase in store here in a fabulous range of colours.  The Merry Christmas at the bottom is from my own stash and are metal  gift tags that I purchased from K-Mart at the end of Christmas a few years back.

Don't forget to pop on over to the Store Blog  and check out the fabulous inspiration from the other Design Team girls.

Looking forward to seeing your creations, happy crafting.

Celebrate

Hi everyone,

Well this school term is certainly back in full swing, we are part way through week 2 and it is busy busy.  Lots of house keeping and finishing off getting things ready for teachers for reports and then it will be end of term and you guessed it, holidays.

In the meantime still trying very hard to keep on creating and today I would like to share with you a non-traditional Christmas card I have  made.

I recently purchased some Frantage Embossing Enamel that I seen used on lots of Magnolia cards and thought I would give it go.  Its funny stuff to use have to heat from underneath lol forgot a few times and it went flying plus it moves when you heat so a bit tricky.  I will keep on trying to perfect it, not unhappy with the results unfortunately the glitter element of it doesn't photograph well but its there.

I have used the following:

                              Magnolia Stamp  - Ballerina Tilda
Spellbinder Dies -  Petite Ovals and Floral Ovals
Patterned Paper  - Bizzy Becs card making kit
Star Embellishment -  Bizzy Becs Christmas card Kit
                              Copic Markers
My Favourite Things  - Notched Tag die and stamp
                              Frantage Embossing Enamel
                              Ribbon from own stash

Bizzy Becs has a fabulous range of goodies with new things available for pre-order regularly.  Check them out here, and at reduced prices.

Don't forget there is still time to join us for this months challenge.

Friends are Flowers

Well what a weekend we have had.

Our local football team the Dockers made history yesterday and are off to their first  Grand Final next week, so very exciting for them and their fans.

I have spent a fabulous weekend with friends making another altered book which was just fantastic.  It is not finished yet as there are a few more pages to add and then I will share the finished product.  I am however very happy with what I have done so far.

Today I would like to share a tag that I made one of about 20 that I will be making for Christmas.  I have used an stamp that is currently available as a preorder from Bizzy Becs here called "Friends are Flowers" and is from Tiddly Inks.  There are also lots of others available too!

Also used is a new Memory Box die called "Christmas" that is also available to preorder in store here.

There is still plenty of time to join us in this months challenge at Bizzy Becs Challenge Blog here for our "Stitching - Faux or Real" Challenge.

Until next time happy crafting.

Fathers Day

We have a new challenge up and running at  Bizzy Becs  "Stitching - Faux or Real" and is brought to you my our DT gal Suzanne.

The prize this month is an adorable Bildmalarna Stamp - Christmas Flower and is kindly donated by Bizzy Becs online store.

Bec has recently restocked the Card Making Kits which include ones suitable for men's cards and for Christmas. As it was Fathers Day last weekend it thought it would be perfect to break open the new kit that I brought and  make a card.  You can view all the new kits here and they are fabulous, full of awesome bits and pieces for your cards. I used the Card Kit - for Men # 3.

Everything used for the card is from the kit with the exception of the kraft card stock and the stamp .  Because this months theme is stitching I used a bit of faux stitching around the outside in brown to compliment the  base.

We did a day trip to the country on Fathers Day as a surprise for dad and presented him with the card and some chocolate. It was an awesome day and fabulous end to a very full weekend.

Don't  forget to pop into the Challenge Blog here to check out the other DT gals cards and then come and play too!

Thanks for dropping in, happy crafting.

Dream

Wow can you believe July already!  Oh boy you can tell July is here the nights are getting colder.  Our 10 y/o fur baby is feeling the winter this year, even with her jacket on she still has a little shiver and snuggles a bit deeper.

School holidays start today and am on two weeks holidays, yay lots of sleep ins coming my way.

Today is also the start of a new challenge at Bizzy Becs and this month the theme is "Anything Goes" and is by DT Francy.  The prize this month is a Memory Box Die - just love them.

Congratulations to Anna for being the winner of the June Monochromatic challenge - gorgeous card and the ladies who made top 3.

Today for my card I decided to not have an image but to work with the Card Embellishment Kit and a Memory Box Die.

I have used Card Embellishment Kit # 1 and Memory Box die - Tiffany Frame the only thing that I added that wasn't in the kit was a few rose buds.

Memory Box dies are available for preorder in store here  the new July collection has just been added to the store they look awesome  and the Card Embellishment Kits here there are only a few left these are very popular and sell out quickly, but I am sure will be back in stock soon.

Thanks for dropping by, keep warm and happy crafting.

Hootie Pie the Owl

What another wonderful weekend we are having.  Having said that I haven't seen much of it so far I am attending a two day workshop near Guildford making a vintage themed journal  complete with photos, lots of vintage fabric and lace and other embellishments. Day one was lots of fun laying out our pages and starting the process of attaching.  Only saw the sunshine for brief moment when we sat outside for lunch after a stroll across the street to browse in a local scrapbooking store.  I am positive that it won't be completed today as there is so much to do, but the structure will be in place.

Today I would like to share with you a tag I made using a new range of stamps that are available for preorder in the store here and are part of a very cute collection of stamps.

Introducing Hootie Pie the Owl, it is part of a set of 5 unmounted owls called Stitched Owls from Pink Cat Studios, they are so darn cute.

Also I have used Memory Box Dies - Picket Fence & Hot Air Balloon and Poppy Stamp Die - Simple Banner.  The paper, flower & ribbon  is from Card Embellishment Kit No 1.  All of these an much more are available to order from the store here.  The sentiment is by me which I created in Word, the owl in the centre is a rubon by October Afternoon and has been part of stash for many years.

Remember there is still time to join in this months Monochromatic + One challenge.

Thanks for dropping by, enjoy your weekend too.

Burlesque Bessie

Well this year is certainly flying by very fast June already!

Since my last post I have been on a craft camp. Had a fabulous weekend 3 days  crafting, creating anything we wanted, no dishes or  housework so much fun.  Can't wait until the next one which hopefully will be towards the end of this year yippee!

Now being that is now June that means  challenge time again at Bizzy Becs.  Each month the DT girls get to choose the challenge theme and this month it is my turn.  Hope you all like it as I  chose Monochromatic + 1 extra colour.  So for my colours I have chosen shades of brown + green as my extra colour.

There is another fabulous prize up for offer for the winner this month kindly donated by
                                                         Bizzy Becs online store

                                                       Spellbinder Die   D-Lite die

For my card I have chosen an image from the Store- Blue Butterfly Digi "Burlesque Bessie"  from the Pin Up Girls series which I have coloured in Sepia using the green as an accessory with my copics.  I have also used  Spellbinders Decorative Labels One and Labels One which are available for pre order in the store here.  Also used are some of the elements from Card Kit #4 which are fabulous value for money along with extra flowers from my own stash.  Bec is adding new kits all the time so check them out here.

I have also used a free sentiment which is available as a download on the challenge blog here.  If you look in the right hand side bar there are lots of others as well. ( Don't forget if you use them give credit to Bec.)

Looks like Pottery?

Howdy,

Today I would like to share with you a card I made which replicates the look of Pottery.  I saw a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and looked pretty cool so thought I would give it a go. Must say am pretty chuffed with the result and so was Mum as it was her Mothers Day card.

I have used Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder Ornamental.  Bizzy Bec's have a range of these folders available for pre-order here.  They are fabulous as you effectively get two folders in one - very cool.

Also used are my Memory Box dies Tiffany Frame, Cherise Label & Prim Poppy.  Memory Box dies are available also from Bec here.

I had some plain silk ribbon in my stash and dyed it using the same ink that was brayered onto the embossing folder  for the background, although it came out much darker I think it still tones well.  I also added a touch of stampin up shimmer paint onto the poppies so that it stood out a bit more from the background.

Thanks for dropping by.

Bird Swing

Yes Rain!   I am not sure whether it is here to stay but.  The last few days have been a very pleasant change from the humid muggy weather we have been having and have even dragged the quilt out of the cupboard.

Today I would like to share with you a card that I made for a wonderful couple that have recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary made of course with her favourite colours. We also had the pleasure of joining them with their celebrations. It was a wonderful night filled with great music courtesy of  brother in laws band. lovely food and great company.  Luckily the weather was kind and they had an outside seating arrangement and everyone partied on till the wee hours.

For my card I chose to make an easel card and followed along with the current Tic Tac Toe challenge at Bizzy Becs .  I have done  - shaped card, flowers and lace/ribbon.

The image I chose is from Whimsy Wee a  gorgeous digi stamp  called "Bird Swing" which I have coloured with copics.  The easel  card was constructed using my Spellbinder die Labels 8 together with Petite Ovals, these can be preordered in store - here.  Bec has a fabulous range of new Whimsy Stamps that are available for preorder so pop over and check them out -  here.  Paper, ribbon, lace and flowers are from my own stash.  The sentiment was a freebie that I found on the internet at Nettys Cards here.  The number sixty was from some chipboard alphas that I have in my stash and spritzed them with dylusions spray crushed grape.

I have made some other cards in the last few days so will be back in a few days to share them too.

Thanks so much from dropping bye.

Tic Tac Toe

Hi and welcome to April.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and didn't over indulge too much on the choccies.  For some of us it was a 5 day weekend which I have to say was fantastic. I made my own Hot Cross Buns for breakie on Good Friday too.   We got most things done around the house I had a crafty morning catch up with our Copic colouring group and then had time to spend with family and friends.  We didn't touch any of our chocolates over Easter as we over indulged in the food department and well were just a wee bit too full to eat eggs as well.   However in the last week the choccies are slowly disappearing.

As it is a new month that means it is time for a new challenge over at Bizzy Becs.  This month we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge so there are lots of combinations to choose from.

....for those who are unsure on what to do...
it's like playing Bingo-you choose the 3 squares that you wish to follow from the Tic-Tac-Toe Grid either going  Across, Down or Diagonally in a Row.
ie :- Birthday - Dry Embossing - Lace or Ribbon...
....... theme by DT Carolyn
The prize for this month is a
 "CHEERY LYNN DIE"

There is a fabulous selection available to order in the store here.

I have chosen to do do across the top line for my card (Punch/Die Cut, Colour Blue,Birthday)

The background has been done on watercolour paper using water colour crayons and I have used a Magnolia Stamp 'Largo the Dolphin' and for my dies I have used Memory Box Clouds, Swirly Tree for the Waves and Swaying Palm, and of course it is mounted onto blue bazzill , white cardstock and a blue bazzill card.  I have coloured her using a new technique I have just learnt shading with dots.  I am very happy with the way it has turned out and will be trying that technique out again.

There is a fabulous new collection of Magnolia Stamps available for preorder through the store here as well as Memory Box Dies here, together with lots of wonderful new items so pop on over.

There is some fabulous inspiration from my teamies this month so hop over and check them out and while you are there why not add your own creation using Mr Linky and be in the running to win this months fabulous prize.

Hello

Hi everyone, well can't believe the weather we have been having lately up and down like a yo-yo.  This last week the humidity has been awful, today is a pleasant relief  so am quite looking forward to Autumn and being cooler.

Now that school has gone back the dog is back outside again and she doesn't like the hot weather at all, almost tears the door down when I get home, poor thing. She has loads of fresh water and spends most of the day in my Orchid House which has a sand base and she can keep relatively cool there in the shade, down side being she is full of black dust. As you might guess she is very much an inside dog and loves to be around us as much as she can.

Today I would like to share with you a card I made using a Magnolia Stamp "Edwin with Aeroplane"  he is so cute just had to stamp him up and colour him.  I thought that it fitted in with this months theme of "Friendship" over at Bizzy Becs. I have also used one of my new dies from Magnolia for the hello banner.

There is still time left to join in the February challenge at Bizzy Becs and have the opportunity to win 5 digis of your choice from Becs store.

Look forward to seeing your cards, happy creating.

Friendship

Welcome to a new challenge at Bizzy Becs .  The theme this month  being February is 'FRIENDSHIP' and was chosen by Michelle.

The prize this month is:

your choice of '5' digital images from Bizzy Becs online store

I  have chosen to present my image on a 6 x 6 canvas which I firstly covered in gesso and then using the background papers from the ' Card Embellishment Kit 4' which is available in store here and are always very popular after adhering it to the canvas, I then dry brushed with gesso and inked around the edges with dark brown ink.

The image used is a magnolia stamp called 'Up Up and Away' and is from the new With Love collection 2013 and whilst it is not currently available in store there are still some others from that collection that can be found here.  I have coloured her with Copic Markers.  The quote I found online and is by Eleanor Roosevelt about True Friends.  Once reduced it fitted perfectly onto a Magnolia die cut tag.

So pop on over to Bizz Becs Store Blog here and check out my other teamies fabulous creations to get you inspired.

Hopefully the issue with Blogger is now all resolved and I look forward to seeing your creations.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Crafting.

Have a fabulous day
