Seas the Day....

Hi everyone, dropping in today to share some inspiration with you.

I a few days ago, I was bitten on the palm of my hand by a bee when folding up the washing, so have found using my hand very sore and as it was swollen,  it made it very hard to bend my fingers .  Now the swelling has subsided I can get back to crafting - yay.

For my card I am using a stamp set from Altenew called Seas the Day.  As the card was  being done as a birthday card I found that the sailing boat was going to be perfect for  what I had in mind.

I coloured the stamped image with Polychromos Pencils and you will find the colours used are listed below.  My background was coloured using Distress Oxides and for the sky I used my cloud stencil.

Supplies used:

Altenew Outline Stamp Set - Seas the Day

Altenew Stamp & Die Set - Happy Sentitments

Lawn Fawn Die - Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables

Polychromos Pencils

Sails: Magenta, Cold Grey VI, Mid Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson

Sail Boat: Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Bistre, Brown Ochre

Distress Oxide Ink Pads - Stormy Sky & Uncharted Mariner

(a similar result could be achieved using Distress Ink Pads)

Statement Flowers.....

 Hi everyone.

Wow October has just flown by so fast, can't believe how close we are to Christmas.

Today I would like to share with you my latest creation using a stamp from Altenew called Statement Flowers.  Such a pretty stamp.

To create my card I first stamped my flowers over the top portion of my card, then coloured with my Copic Markers.  To highlight my flowers I then came in with  Prisma Coloured pencils to create depth.

My background is also done using a Prisma Coloured Pencil and Zest It.  Finally I flicked some White & Black from my Posca Pens over the completed piece and  then die cut to create the top feature. The bottom piece is a left over from the inside of  my Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Die.

Happy Halloween....

Hi everyone.

Today is October 31st and in Australia many people will celebrate all things Halloween.

I have created a card using one of the older digitals from Bizzy Becs store and mixed it with some stencils from my own stash, some clear embossing powder, coloured texture paste and distress oxides.  I have coloured my image with prisma coloured pencils.

To create my background I first sponged through my stencil with the Ranger Embossing Dauber to create a border of spider webs.  I embossed each one individually with clear embossing powder, before moving on to the Distress Oxides. Starting with Uncharted Mariner, then Tumbled Glass and finally Twisted Citron.  I then edged my card with the Black Soot Distress Ink Pad.  I then inked through my bat stencil with the Black Soot to add a few bats .  Finally I gently buffed the surface to expose the embossed areas.

Lastly I used liquitex Light Modelling Paste mixed with a little black gesso to create my spiders, which were on the Spider Web Stencil from my stash.

I had so much fun creating this background.

Supplies used:

Bizzy Becs Digital Stamp - Goth Angel Goth

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Set #3 - Black Soot

Cody on a Swing...

 Hi everyone.

Popping in today to share a new card with you all and to let you know that it is also the start of the new challenge month over at Bizzy Becs.

For my card today I have used one of the older Digital Stamps from the Boyz will be Boyz collection called Cody on a swing.   My card is as I type winging its way to my Great Nephew who recently turned 3.  Sorry guys its is going to be late, still getting my head around the length of time it takes for mail to get to Canada from Australia.

I have fussy cut the image and attached it under the frame with a very small split pin.  I got my inspiration for this from a card I saw recently created by  Melissa Goodman who made her elephant on her card move.    Sadly I haven't taken a video of how the swing moves from side to side, but have photographed its different positions.

New Flower Labels 5 Pack.....

Hi everyone.

Popping in today to share with you my card I made for my Dad for Fathers Day,  which we celebrated here in Australia yesterday.

For my card I used a new Digital Stamp that was recently released at Bizzy Becs.  It comes in a pack of 5 and must say they are very easy to use and cut out.

The image I choose consists of Grapto Ives (Succulents) and I took my inspiration from a photo I found on line, and used  Prisma Colour Pencils to colour my image.

Once coloured I then ran my image through my Minc machine by using the Minc Toner Marker to outline the frame and Copper Foil.  I also coloured the Happy Die Cut Sentitment with the Minc Toner Marker and used the same Copper coloured foil and put that through the Minc Machine.
My sentitment Fathers Day was computer generated.

Waffled Diamonds...

Hi everyone, I am popping in today to share my latest  masculine card.

Today I have used a Altenew 3d Embossing Folder to create my card.

Before embossing I blended together three colours of Distress Oxide Ink.  Instead of inking bottom to top I inked from the sides to make it a little different.

First I used Mowed Lawn, then added Pine Needles and lastly Mermaid Lagoon, when I was happy with the blend I ran the inked background through the embossing folder.

Before adhering the sentiment to create a distressed look I ran my sanding block over the top of the inked background until I was happy with the result.

Using the Happy Birthday Die I then multi cut it from white cardstock 3 times and then  once from Gloss Black cardstock and glued all the layers together.

I love how it turned out.

Supplies used:

Altenew 3d Embossing Folder - Waffled Diamonds
Tim Holtz Distress Oxides Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles & Mermaid Lagoon

Brushstoke Flowers # 3....

Hi everyone, dropping in today to share my latest inspiration.

Wow can you believe it, we are in June already and the start of winter, not that we have had much rain yet, but it has been so cold.  I think we about  had  3°C overnight, brrr.

It is also the start of a new challenge month over at Bizzy Becs and for my card I have used some product by Tim Holtz and sizzix and was inspired by a card I saw by Juliana Michaels of 17turtles.com .

For my background I first embossed my cardstock using my 3d Texture Fade - Typewriter, then smooshed the background with some Distress Oxide in  Bundled Sage.  When completely dry I brushed over the raised areas of the card and edges with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.

My flowers were cut three times in three different colours for each flower and after I chose the combination I wished to use, I inked around each piece with Walnut Stain and glued them together. To create some dimension I glued a second layer under the main flower and slightly off set it.  For the centre of the flowers I covered them with Dimensional Magic and sprinkled  them with 13 @rts Gold XS microspheres.

Supplies used:

Paint a Flower - Fashion Monger Dahlia...

Hi everyone.

Just dropping in today to share my latest card.

Today I have been playing with my newly acquired Altenew 24 half pan Watercolour Set and the Fashion Monger Dahlia.

I first applied the stamp to my Watercolour paper on the top and bottom and then applied a thin wash of  the light green to the background and onto the leaves.  I then slowly added more colour using the darker greens and some Cherry Blossom.  My flowers were painted with Cherry Blossom and  Shades of Purple in varying layers until I was happy with the look.  I added a touch of  Cool Summer night to the leaves and to the background as a splatter.

I finished off the background by spattering a little Liquitex White Acrylic Ink as the the white watercolour vanished into the background, then stamped my sentiment.

Cosmos Trio....

 Hi everyone.

Dropping in today as it is the 5th of the month today and that means it is the start of a new challenge over at Bizzy Becs Store Blog.

For my inspiration this month I have been looking at youtube and have been inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's latest videos and decided to have a go.  As I wanted to use a digital stamp instead of an acrylic one, after much searching, was able to do what I wanted and am very happy with the placements of the digital stamp.

I love how easy this technique is and how well it came together, it was quite fun and not to messy.  If you watch the video you will see what I mean.  I went with her second idea.
