Father's Day

Hi, just popping in to share the card I made for my lovely Dad for Fathers Day.

I wrapped some cardstock in silver foil tape and ran it through my Tim Holtz embossing folder, then painted it with black gesso and when it was almost dry I wipe it back to reveal the foil tape.

The lighthouse image is a Stamp It stamp that I have had for ages and this I stamped with Brushed Courdoroy Distress Ink onto a tag which was diecut using Memory Box Distressed Tag Die and stamped with the matching stamp using  Brushed Courdoroy ink.  The edges were then inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and when it was dry it was painted with a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Rock Candy.  I also cut a decorative strip using Testatina Border Die by Memory Box.

For the tie on the tag I used a strip of Green Tara Burlap Ribbon and pulled it apart as a ribbon and attached a ships wheel charm for decoration.

For me the countdown is now on as it will be school holidays in a few days and I am looking forward to spending some time catching up with family, friends and some crafting.

Hope you are having a great week, happy crafting.

Just for You

Yeah!  Spring is here and I just love spring, it is my most favourite season of all, flowers blooming, birds busy making nests and lots of butterflies and dragonflies flitting around the garden.

September is also the start of a new "Anything Goes" challenge at Bizzy Becs and the card I made features a Darkroom Door stamp "Butterfly" which I have coloured with Distress Stains (Rusty Hinge, Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint and Broken China).  I have also used Darkroom Doors Texture Stamp "French Script"  for behind the Butterfly and Garden Greetings for the sentiment.  I also used the Distress Stains to dye the silk ribbon.  It is interesting to note that even through I used the same colours as I coloured the Butterfly with,  when combined onto the ribbon it has gone a bit more green that I had hoped - note to self a bit more blue next time.

There is another fabulous prize up for grabs this month for our lucky winner a Die-Namites Die - kindly donated by Bizzy Becs online store, so please join us for this months challenge, we love seeing your creations.  Before you do check out the Design Teams creations and welcome our new DT member Mandy.

Thanks for dropping by and happy crafting.
