Candy Canes

Well here we are the 22nd December 2012 and I guess the Mayans got it wrong, hehe.

Today I would like to share with you all the last of my Christmas cards for 2012.  For my card I have used a gorgeous stamp that I recently purchased from Bizzy Becs on line store from Saturated Canary called "Candy Canes".

I have had lots of fun creating this card and being Christmas time couldn't go past playing with a bit of glitter. I used stickles and my glitter pens, unfortunately it hasn't shown up very well  but it is on the wings, dress, candy canes and the die cut embellishments.

Also used are Memory Box die "Frostyville Wreath" and on the inside " Flowering Christmas Tree", together with Poppy Stamp Die "Antique Lamp Post"  These dies are available for preorder here and also Bec has some  new ones which I must check out also available for preorder here.

I was lucky enough to receive some hand made stick pins in a Secret Santa present recently and one of them was perfect for this card so couldn't resist using it.  Goes so well.

Here she is:

here is a look at the inside of the card using the "Flowering Christmas Tree"

I have also used a free sentiment which is available on the challenge blog here.  If you decide to use it don't forget to link back.

There is also still time left to enter into the final challenge for 2012 at Bizzy Becs "Christmas" so keep those entries coming.

Thanks for dropping by, happy creating.

Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year to all.

Nevaeh

Hi everyone, just can't believe it.  There are only 33 days left until Christmas!  Oh my goodness the time is just flying by.

On that note I have started giving some consideration to my Christmas card list for this year.  Each year I make all my cards so with November almost gone I thought I had better get started.  Today I would like to share with you my very first Christmas card for the year.

To create my card base if have used a Spellbinder die "Labels Eight", "Scallop cirles'" and "Standard Circles Small" available here and I have used an image from Saturated Canary called Nevaeh.  The exciting part is that there is a selection of stamps available currently for preorder through Bizzy Bec's and this gorgeous stamp is one of them.

Here she is:

I have also used a Memory Box die "Winterland Tree".  There is a great selection of dies available from Bec here for preorder and the sentitment is also from Bec, a freebie that is on the challenge blog here together with many others.

The circle sentiment works particulary well with Spellbinders circles and you can resize them to suit punches as well, very cool.

Remember also there is still time left to enter into this month's challenge "Time or Travel".

Thanks for dropping by, happy crafting.

Travelling Tilda

Hi everyone and welcome to a new challenge at Bizzy Becs.  This month the theme is

"Time or Travel" and is by Francy

There is a fabulous prize up for grabs this month with a new style embossing folder from Nellie Snellen called "Snowy Village 2" which embosses the whole scene.  Looks very cool.

My card that I would like to share with you all follows the theme of Travel and I have used two Magnolia Stamps - Travelling Tilda and Suitcase with signpost. These are older stamps and not currently available through the store but there are some awesome ones available for preorder here and will sell out very quickly, so don't miss out. They have been coloured using Copics.

I have also used Spellbinder Labels 8 available for preorder here and the card embellishment kit No 1 which is currently sold out but am very sure there will be some more coming very soon.

Dont forget to pop over to the Store Blog here and check out the rest of the teams gorgeous creations and then come back and share your card with us.

Spooky

Well I have to say what a contrast in weather we are having at the moment, we have woken this morning to grey skies and rain.  Such a shame after the lovely weather we have been having lately, but that's spring for you....lol.

Today I would like to share with you another card I have made following on with my "Halloween" theme.  I have used another of the Blue Butterfly Digi stamps, "Candra Goth Girl" which is available from Becs store here.  They are so easy to colour I just love them and hopefully you all took advantage of the little sale that Bec had over the last few days and stocked up on all your favourites.

Here is my card, I have used lots of die cuts and crystal embellishments, even managed to spray some white flowers as I wanted to use some black roses, haha think I got more on me than the flowers.

I have chosen to do something different this time and have had a go at doing a twisted easel card.  Well have to so say they are so easy and lots of fun so will definitely be doing that one again.  There are lots of wonderful tutorials out there to follow but quite liked this one as it is easy to follow and has great pictures.

Here is a close up

recipe:
Memory Box dies:   Estate Fence
                                    Twiggy Tree
Spellbinders         :   Lacy Squares
Candra, Blue Butterfly Digi
copics
flowers    all of the above  are available through Bizzy Becs online store here

everything else is from my own stash
dsp:                          Echo Park- Chillingsworth Manor
Martha Stewart - Cobweb punch
Tim Holtz - Rickety House
Stampin Up - Wicked Cool
crystal embellishments
bazzill and Kraft paper

I have even managed to find a few challenges to enter:

Angel Goth

Hi everyone its the 5th October and that means its the start of another challenge month at Bizzy Becs and congratulations to Eels for being the winner of Septembers challenge.

This month our challenge  is:

                                      "Things with Wings"
                                           by DT Kelly

The prize for  the winner of this months challenge is this beautiful Whimsy Wee Stamp called "Summer Fairy" isn't she just adorable.

Now being October and the challenge being things with wings got me thinking.  Normally I do not do anything Halloween  - being an Aussie kid it was something we didn't do.  The most we ever did growing up was Guy Fawkes night which I recall being awesome fun.  Dad would go any buy a few crackers and we would set them off  - hehe those were the days when you could purchase them and you didn't need a special licence.

There are so many lovely Halloween cards and Treat bags around this time of the year so it got me thinking why not, I will too.  So on that note I would like to share with you what I made.

I have used Angel Goth which is a Blue Butterfly Digi  from Bizzy Becs Store here and Spellbinders Splendid Circles which you can also get from Bizzy Becs here.  The background moon and birds stamp is one that I have had for ages and is from Cherry Pie.

The Coffin Treat Box was found on line at a site called Birds Cards.  Now I searched high and low to find something to fit in with the theme to go inside, none of the shops had anything Halloween but everything Christmas.  Well I found some Candy Corn yesterday, perfect!  Had to have a taste too, but oooh they are sooo sweet.

So now its your turn, thinking caps on everyone  and get creating.  Pop over to Bizzy Becs and check out my teamies creations and then show us what you have created.

The countdown to All Hallows Eve has began.

Thanks for dropping by and Happy Creating.

Gone Fishing

Hi everyone, can you believe it this month is just flying by so fast and before we know it will be Christmas again.  Oh my gosh!!

I have been creating again and this time I would like to share with you a little corner bookmark I have made. There are so many wonderful tutorials out there for these just had to make one.  I have used from Bizzy Becs Blue Butterfly digi range "Cody Fishing" and you can find him right here.  It still fits in perfectly with this months challenge "For a Male with a tag".    The Bookmark is perfect for someone who is an avid reader and doesn't like to dog ear the page.

I have also used spellbinder dies Labels 2 and Basic Banners both are also available to purchase through Becs online store here.

Also don't forget there is still plenty of time to enter this months challenge and be in the running to win the fabulous stamp from Wild Rose Studios Christmas Range "Bella with Sledge".

The prize for this month's challenge is this gorgeous stamp from Wild Rose Studios Christmas Range -Bella with a Sledge, so adorable.

For my card this month the theme was at the perfect time for Fathers Day and I made it on an easel card which are so easy to make and a favourite of mine.

I have used two Magnolia stamps for the card one an oldie from the Sweet Rainbow Collection 2011 "Cool Edwin" and the car is from  the 2012 Summer Memories collection and is called "Edwins Oldmobile".  Whilst these are no longer available in Bec's Store there are some fabulous Magnolia Stamps available in stock and on pre-order here.  I have also used Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals which are available in store here.

I have coloured the images with Copic Markers which can be preordered in store also here.  The rust technique on the car is a new one I have recently learnt and have to say I just love the effect.

recipe:
Stamps:        Magnolia
Paper:           Kaiser 61/2" pad "Attitude"
Colouring:     Copic Markers

Welcome to a new month at Bizzy Becs.

There is another fabulous challenge for you all this month

 "Spots and Stripes"

and the prize for this month is this gorgeous Memory Box Die.
 Isn't it devine.

I also used for the greeting another digi element from Becs  a freebie found on the store blog here.  To go with the spots and stripes theme I added stripes to her socks and spots to her bow in her hair.  The flowers came from Bizzy Becs as well as the butterfly charm.  Paper and lace and from my own stash and I coloured her with copic markers.

More Flowers

The challenge this month at Bizzy Becs is Flower Power and to continue on with that theme I have had a play with my Poppystamp and Memory Box dies and this is what I came up with.

The floral paper I used is from the card kit 10 which is available - here. I also used Poppystamp dies Small Madison Window, Shutter and small Flower Box all available from Bec - here together with the Memory Box Catalina Border and Essex Label - here. The Catalina border was used with several different colour card stocks and pieced onto the green patterned paper, cut into sprays and arranged into the window box. I also used it in one piece on the inside of the card in a maroon to match the card.

It was a bit fiddly cutting the flowers and piecing them onto the green card stock but well worth the effort.

For the wall background I used Tim Holtz's bricked embossing folder.

Don't forget that if there is anything you can't see in Bec's store drop her an email and if it is possible it can be ordered in for you.

There is also time to enter this month's flower challenge with two fabulous Memory Box dies up for grabs so keep those entries coming.

Thanks for dropping by, happy creating.

Paper Bag Card

Today I would like to share with you all a card that I made for a dear friend and work collegue.  The inspiration for the card came from the current issue of Magnolia Ink No 3 and a fabulous tutorial by Camilla.  I had to alter the measurements as the only paper bag I could find was slightly larger 30cm x 16cm.  After folding the bag in half I attached my layers of cream cardstock and patterned paper to the front back and inside before adding the finishing touches. For the pattern paper I chose Websters  "Spring Market Collection" which I had in my own stash and have been waiting to use.

     Front of Card

I used  "Flower Pot Tilda" and "Barbed Wire Fence" and coloured them with copics and all the edges have been distressed and inked.

  Inside of Card

When you fold the bag in half and stick all the layers on I love how there is a small pocket created on the inside perfect for the addition of little tags or messages.  As the card was to be signed by other work collegues to create an area to sign I inserted two pieces of cream cardstock to which I added the heart tag Doohickey "So Wrapped" with pearls and ribbon to create a pull out tab.

Overall I am very happy how the card turned out.  I have also found a little challenge to enter into:

Recipe:
Paper - Cream Cardstock, Websters Spring Market Collection
Magnolia Doohickey - So Wrapped
Stamps - Magnolia Flower Pot Tilda, Barbed Wire Fence, Sentiment - Stampin up
Flowers - Kaiser and own stash
Pearls - Kaiser
Lace and Ribbon from own stash

Thanks for dropping in, have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Perth Craft and Quilt Show

Had a lovely day on Friday when and friend and I went to the Perth Craft and Quilt Fair which is held annually at the Perth Convention Centre. Very pleased to see that there were a few new retailers this year for the paper crafter. Came home with the purse a little lighter and a few more supplies than had planned but it was a fabulous day.
This was a workshop with Scrapmatts using their round printers tray. Their chipboard embellishments are amazing and just had to add some to my stash.
Another person that I very much enjoyed meeting in person and sitting in on her talks was Jane Davenport The Artomologist. She draws and paints the most amazing whimsical creatures. Her workshops are most definitely on my to do list, some time in the not so distant future. In the meantime myself and a few friends will be getting together next weekend which is a long weekend here in Perth to do some Jane inspired drawings in our journals.

Thanks for dropping by, hope your day has been good.

Bye for now

Donna Downey visits

Wow! We have been so lucky, this week as Donna Downey came to Perth for two days of workshops hosted by Made with Memories, Rockingham. On Wednesday I was fortunate enough to do Donna's Inspiration Journal workshop. What a treat got to see her Inspiration Wednesday Journal in real life so,so nice. We got to play with lots of different media - pan pastels, golden paint mmmm my favourite, gelatos and some Indian ink all in a handmade journal. Had an absolute blast and we hope that Donna can come back again next year.

Here is a little look at a few pages from the day.

These pages we put down colour using different techniques and one of them over gesso so we could see the difference between the two pages.

Love this one too did a gel medium transfer of text onto a canvas heart and then added it to the page with a bit of colour then drizzled the page with a contrasting colour, so fun.

The journal will be a work in progress and look forward to using the many techniques shown during the class. Of course it has also highlighted that I just have to now have some Pan Pastels they are so nice to work with, oh well little steps.

Thanks so much for dropping by, hope your day is wonderful.

Until next time

Anything Goes

This month at Bizzy Becs the challenge for January is "Anything Goes." I have used a digi from the Once Upon a Time Collection called Strawberry Basket. I have teamed her up with chocolate and a bottle of West Australian Sparkling Malbec from one of our South West wineries by making a chocolate box tag that sits over the neck of the bottle of wine. A perfect present.

Here is a close up of the chocolate box tag. This was so much fun to make and got my inspiration from a whimsy tutorial that I found last year. The image is coloured using my Copic Markers.

Thanks for dropping in, have a fabulous day.

Winter Wonderland

This week at Dilly Beans their challenge is Winter Wonderland. For this challenge I have used the Snow Family digi together with a Christmas Ornament digi that I got from TiddlyInks. I originally made this for Dillybeans challenge when the snow family was released but didn't have anything to use for the snow. At a local craft shop last weekend we discovered this awesome paint to use as snow (True Snow) so easy to apply, love it.

I coloured the image with my copics and am happy with the overall effect of the finished card.

Thanks for looking, have a wonderful day.
